Las Vegas, NV - Jake Odorizzi carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning while Irving Falu and Max Ramirez each drove in a pair of runs as Omaha blanked Las Vegas, 7-0, Tuesday night in the first of a four-game set at Cashman Field. The Storm Chasers won their eighth straight road game to improve to 74-50 overall and reduced their magic number to clinching consecutive division titles to four.

Odorizzi retired the initial 12 hitters he faced before running into his first bit of trouble when Jack Cust drew a leadoff walk in the fifth and moved to second on an Anthony Seratelli fielding error that put two runners on base. However, Ricardo Nanita grounded into a double play and another ground out ended the threat.

The young right-hander then set down the next five batters in a row before Cust walked again in front of veteran infielder Chris Woodward, who spoiled the no-hit bid with a single to center field on his 104th pitch of the night. Odorizzi again turned away the 51s when Wil Myers made a diving grab on a Nanita liner to end the inning. The Illinois native walked a pair and struck out four over his seven sparkling innings to earn his ninth Triple-A win.

Brandon Sisk took over and got Jonathan Diaz to ground into an inning-ending double play in the eighth with runners at the corners and then retired the side in order in the ninth to close out the Storm Chasers seventh shutout of the season.

Omaha opened the scoring in the first inning without a hit when Seratelli reached third base on a throwing error by catcher Tuffy Gosewisch on a bunt attempt and scored on a Johnny Giavotella ground out.

Ramirez singled with out in the fifth for the visitors first hit of the night and triggered a rally that gave Odorizzi some breathing room. The Omaha catcher advanced to third when Mitch Maier doubled and both runners would score when Falu came through with a two-out single. Seratelli followed with another two-base hit to chase home Falu to extend the advantage to 4-0. The Chasers made it consecutive three-run frames in the sixth with an RBI hit from Clint Robinson and two-run double by Ramirez. Las Vegas starter Scott Richmond suffered the defeat after he was charged with all seven runs, six earned, on eight hits over six innings.
