Did You Hear? Huskers Have New Name...That's What I Heard
The headline above is just another rumor. Other rumors were running just as rampant Sunday evening about the status of Husker head coach Bo Pelini and quarterback Taylor Martinez. Much of the gossip appeared to go back to a website reporter who offered no attribution as a source.
The Channel 6 Sports Machine has checked with sources who would know. Across the board, we are told (on the record) that the rumors are not true.
A possible instigator of one rumor is the fact that Nebraska Chancellor Harvey Perlman is not happy with Pelini’s verbal assault of officials and his own players during Saturday night’s game. The Huskers lost to Texas A&M 9-6. Perlman’s anger is true.
Perlman says (on the record) that he and athletic director Tom Osborne will address the matter directly with Pelini. He would not speculate on any disciplinary action.
