Defense Argues To Dismiss Some Sandusky Charges

The judge in Jerry Sandusky's child sexual abuse case is focusing on a defense effort to toss charges related to an alleged victim who's never been identified by investigators.

Sandusky lawyer Joe Amendola and state prosecutors spent most of a 45-minute hearing Wednesday debating whether co-workers should be allowed to testify about a custodian's report that he saw Sandusky sexually abuse a boy in the Penn State showers 12 years ago.

The boy is called Victim 8 in court records. Prosecutors say the custodian, Jim Calhoun, has dementia and isn't available to testify himself.

Judge John Cleland didn't immediately rule.

The trial for 68-year-old Sandusky is scheduled to begin Tuesday with jury selection. The former Penn State assistant football coach denies the allegations.
