Creighton women's tennis sophomore Jennie Hartjes captured third place with a straight-sets victory in singles flight one of the MVC Women's Tennis Individual Championships hosted by Wichita State on Sunday.
Hartjes was the lone Bluejay in action on the courts on the final day of the championships, facing Emmie Marx of Illinois State.
In the first set, Hartjes edged Marx 6-4 for the early advantage. Hartjes won the second set in extra games at 7-5 to secure the win and take home third-place honors in the top singles flight.
The Jays conclude their fall season at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Central Regional Championships October 18th-22nd.
