The No. 2 seeded Creighton women held No. 10 Southern Illinois to just nine points in the first half en route to a 60-43 win Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament at St. Charles, Missouri.
Marissa Janning and Jordan Garrison led the Jays with 11 points each. Rishonda Napier topped all scorers with 20 points for Southern Illinois.
The victory moved Creighton to 24-6 while the Salukis finished the season with a 5-26 record. The Bluejays advance to face Illinois State, who defeated Bradley 59-48.
