Creighton Pops Presbyterian 87-58

Sophomore Austin Chatman had a career-high 11 assists and Doug McDermott scored 24 points in 22 minutes as Creighton rolled to an 87-58 victory over Presbyterian Sunday afternoon at CenturyLink Center Omaha.

The Bluejays have now started 3-0 for the 12th time in 14 seasons. Presbyterian, which led at Georgia Tech at halftime and owned road wins at Cincinnati, Wake Forest and Auburn in the past three years, fell to 0-3.

McDermott, held to five points last Wednesday, scored Creighton's first seven points Sunday, including a fast-break dunk off a feed from Grant Gibbs.

Creighton broke open a 10-7 game with a 12-0 run featuring a Jahenns Manigat trey, then three consecutive Ethan Wragge three-pointers. With Chatman dishing nine assists and McDermott scoring 20 points, the Jays led 43-17 at the half.

Presbyterian never came closer than 26 points in the second half. Jordan Downing had 25 points to lead the Blue Hose.
