The Creighton men's basketball team moved to 13th in the USA
Today coaches poll and 16th in the Associated Press rankings that were released on Monday.

Ranked 11th in both polls a week ago, the Jays dropped a few spots after
losing to Boise State and beating Saint Joseph's last week. BSU's win in
Omaha helped the Broncos garner 22 votes in the AP poll and two votes in the
coaches poll.

Creighton has been ranked in the top 16 by both groups in each of the first
five polls of the season, reaching as high as No. 11 a week ago in both.

Joining the Bluejays in the Associated Press poll is Missouri Valley
Conference rival Wichita State, which moved up to No. 24 after an 8-0 start.
It's the first time this year that two MVC schools have been ranked at the
same time, but the second straight year the Bluejays and Shockers have been
ranked concurrently. Prior to this season, the MVC had not had two league
members ranked in the AP poll at the same time in consecutive seasons since
1971-72 and 1972-73, when Louisville and Memphis did it.

Creighton has two games scheduled this week. The Bluejays will play at
Nebraska on Thursday (7:04 pm) before hosting Akron on Sunday (1:05 pm).

Statistically, Creighton ranks among the nation's top-12 in eight different
categories. THe Jays are second in field goal percentage (.531), sixth in
free-throw percentage (.787) and points (661), eighth in assist/turnover
ratio (1.51), 11th in assists per game (17.9) and 12th in points per game
(82.6), scoring margin (19.3) and three-point field goals per game (9.0).

Individually, Grant Gibbs is fifth in assist/turnover ratio (6.00), Doug
McDermott is 17th in points per game (21.3) and Ethan Wragge is 19th in
three-point field goal percentage (.500).
