Creighton Moves Up to #9 in AP

The Creighton Bluejays are moving up in the weekly Associated Press men’s college basketball poll. Victories over Marquette and Seton Hall propelled the team from 11th to the ninth position.

On Sunday, the team squeaked by Seton Hall 72-71 in a thriller at CenturyLink Arena. Doug McDermott celebrated “Doug McDermott Bobblehead Day” by scoring 29 points, moving into 10th on the NCAA’s all-time scoring charts. The previous Wednesday, the Bluejays beat Marquette 85-70.

Creighton has only one game this week, against Xavier in Cincinnati on Saturday. The team is currently 23-4 for the season.
Iowa State jumped two positions in the poll to 15th. Iowa fell from 15th to 20th.
