Brad McKewon's 3-for-4, two RBI day paced Creighton as the Bluejays completed a sweep of Bradley Sunday at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha with a 7-3 win.
Bradley got out to a 1-0 lead in the second, but the Braves left the bases loaded. Creighton (18-6, 5-1 MVC) took advantage in the bottom of the inning as Reagan Fowler drew a lead-off walk, went to second on a sacrifice and scored on Ryan Fitzgerald's single.
The Bluejays took control in the third when Alex Staehely drove a two-out, two-run double into left-center to bring home Federico Castagnini and Jake Peter. Castagnini had drawn a one-out walk and Peter reached on an infield single.
Creighton tacked on runs in the fourth and sixth innings. Kevin Lamb tripled in the fourth, then McKewon drove him home with a single up the middle. In the sixth it was McKewon singling to right, swiping second and scoring on an RBI knock by Castagnini.
Bradley (11-16, 1-5 MVC) scored two runs off reliever Mark Winkelman in the eighth to make it 5-3. The Bluejays pushed their lead back to four with RBI singles by McKewon and Mike Gerber in the bottom of the eighth.
Freshman Austin Groth picked up the win (2-0), limiting Bradley to one run on three hits and two walks in five innings. Stephan Toma took the loss (1-1), giving up four runs on five hits and four walks in 3.1 innings.
