Matt Warren tossed seven shutout innings to improve to 8-0 and the bullpen did its job in a 4-0 Creighton win at Villanova Saturday afternoon.
Reagan Fowler reached on an error by third baseman Kevin Jewitt to start the second inning. After Brett Murray failed to sacrifice him to second by popping out, Landon Lucansky walked and both men advanced on a wild pitch by Hunter Schryver (1-5). Joey Mancuso singled them in for a 2-0 lead.
With two outs in the fifth, Jake Peter singled and took second on a wild pitch by Schryver. Ryan Fitzgerald walked and both men would move up on another wild pitch by Schryver. Mike Gerber doubled home both runners to make it 4-0.
Warren gave up just three hits, walking two and striking out four as the Bluejays improved to 20-12-1 (5-1 Big East) while Villanova fell to 11-24 (3-6).
