Wyoming ended the UNO women's two-game winning streak with a 2-1 win Sunday afternoon in Omaha.
Olivia Mohtadi got Wyoming (3-1-1) on the board in the 11th minute. Jennifer Paul dribbled down the center of the field and played a ball to Mohtadi on the left side behind the defense. She finished to the low right corner for a 1-0 lead.
Paul got into the scoring column herself in the 20th minute. Liz O'Reilly worked her way to the right side of the box and centered a ball to Paul, who placed it into the middle of the net to make it 2-0.
Hannah Wampler got the Mavericks (2-4) on the board in the 57th minute on a direct kick. Melanie McCormick was fouled just outside the 18-yard box. Wampler took the kick and ripped it into the upper right corner to cut Wyoming's lead to 2-1.
The Cowgirls out-shot Omaha 11-7, 8-5 in shots on goal.
