Omaha Central is the Nebraska Class A boys basketball state champion for the fourth straight year and seventh time in eight years after defeating Papillion-La Vista 69-44 Saturday afternoon in Lincoln.
DeAndre Hollins-Johnson led the Eagles with 17 points. Central (25-4) also got 16 points and nine rebounds from Tra-Deon Hollins and 13 points and seven rebounds from Kevin Scott. Brett Dougherty had 17 points and nine rebounds for the Monarchs (24-4).
The Eagles outscored Papillion 16-4 over a five-minute stretch of the first quarter to break the game open. They led 35-20 at halftime and by as many as 32 points in the fourth quarter.
Central joins Lincoln Northeast, Wahoo, Clearwater and Falls City Sacred Heart as schools that have won four straight titles. The Eagles now have 10 total championships.
Papillion-La Vista had beaten the Eagles 67-58 in January to end the Eagles' 50-game win streak.
