McKenzie Fujan scored 25 points and Sarah Nelson added 18 to lead Creighton to an 85-64 win and sweep of Providence Saturday afternoon at DJ Sokol Arena.
The Bluejays opened with four straight trifectas, building a 12-0 lead. Providence responded with a 9-1 run to make it 13-9 after five minutes.
The Friars came all the way back to take the lead at 20-19 and again at 22-21. This time it was Creighon's turn to rally as the Bluejays scored seven straight to reclaim the lead at 28-22 and they held on for a 40-37 halftime lead.
As they had in the opening period, Creighton tallied the first 12 points of the second half to take control, maintaining a double-digit edge the rest of the way.
Alexis Harris had 13 points, one of five Friars scoring in double figures.
The win lifted the Bluejays to 15-10 on the season and 9-4 in the Big East while Providence fell to 6-19 and 1-13 in conference play.
