Freshman Melanie Jereb had a career-high 18 kills and Kate Elman added a career-best 27 digs to help Creighton to a 3-1 (25-16, 25-10, 23-25, 25-17) win at Evansville on Saturday evening.
Jereb turned in a solid all-around performance, finishing with 18 kills, eight digs and six blocks. Kelli Browning had 13 kills and nine blocks for CU (13-3, 4-1 MVC) while Heather Thorson tallied 10 kills and six blocks. Elman led the Bluejay defense with 27 digs while Megan Bober had a double-double with 43 assists, 17 digs, five blocks and five kills.
UE (6-12, 2-4 MVC) was paced by 12 kills from Ashley Ring, with 10 of those coming in the last two sets. Katie Klages had a match-best 32 digs.
The Bluejays have now won 17 of the past 18 meetings with Evansville.
