Leah McNary had a career-high 23 kills on .458 hitting as Creighton won its 14th straight match, a 3-2 comeback at Missouri State Saturday night.
Creighton (26-3, 17-1 MVC) also won in five sets Friday night at Wichita State. For the second straight night, the Bluejays trailed in the final set. MSU led 9-6 before CU started its comeback. A Megan Bober solo block tied the score at 10-all and the Jays took a 12-11 lead on an MSU attack error. McNary then had a kill to make it 13-12 in CU's favor, only to see Carly Thomas tie the score with a kill. With the set knotted at 13-all, Heather Thorson had a kill to get CU to match point where Melanie Jereb took advantage of a busted play for the final winner.
The Jays return to Springfield next week for the MVC Tournament. The event begins Thursday, though Creighton has earned the No. 1 seed and a quarterfinal bye and won't take the court until Friday night.
