Creighton last season matched its record for wins in a season and won a game in the NCAA Tournament. Coach Greg McDermott wants to take the next step. His goal is for the Bluejays is to make it to a regional semifinal for the first time in program history.
McDermott said Wednesday the Bluejays are thriving on the high expectations.
All-America forward Doug McDermott is among four returning starters and a candidate for national player of the year. Nine of the top 10 players are back from the team that went 29-6, finished second to Wichita State in the Missouri Valley Conference regular season and won the league tournament.
Creighton opens November 2nd with an exhibition against Mary University. The regular season starts November 9th at home against North Texas.
