USA Today Travel announced the winners Thursday in the 10Best reader’s choice award for favorite college football game day spot and Lincoln came in sixth.
Each week, USA Today Travel asks readers to help pick the 10Best in a single category, which can range from food, lodging and destinations to travel gear and things to do. The 10Best’s travel experts select the 20 top nominees and the readers make the call for who places at the top.
“Lincoln is truly a great place to be on Husker game days and all throughout the year,” said Jeff Maul, executive director of the Lincoln Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Our city is known for its warm hospitality, unique food and venues, all of which add to the great atmosphere our residents' and visitors' experience on Husker game days.”
Clemson, South Carolina, home of the Clemson University Tigers, was ranked number one followed by Columbia, South Carolina (University of South Carolina), Knoxville, Tennessee (University of Tennessee), College Station, Texas (Texas A&M University), Ann Arbor, Michigan (University of Michigan), Lincoln, State College, Pennsylvania (Penn State University), Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State University), Baton Rouge, Louisiana (Louisiana State University) and Tuscaloosa, Alabama (University of Alabama).
