Northern Colorado belted the Mavericks 19-3 Friday afternoon in Greeley. The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was canceled due to snow.
The Bears (6-11) scored in every inning, plating four runs in the first, three in the second, two in the third, four in the fourth and fifth and another pair in the sixth. Northern Colorado out-hit UNO 18-8.
The win went to Jake Johnson (2-2), who threw 6.0 innings and allowed three runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and two walks. Matt Tew (0-3) took the loss, surrendering nine runs on 10 hits with three Ks and three walks over 3.0 innings of work.
The Mavericks fell to 5-11.
