Jazmin Ponce scored two goals to lead Arizona to a 3-1 win over Creighton Sunday night at Morrison Stadium.
The Wildcats' Susana Melendez gave the visitors a 1-0 lead at the 12:47 mark on a shot from 25 yards out that beat Creighton goalkeeper Katie Jo Swanson. Ponce fired the ball into net in the 17th minute for a 2-0 lead.
Kelsey O'Donnell got Creighton (1-4-1) on the board in the 26th minute, taking a pass from freshman Alyssa Jara, faking a pass toward the middle before firing in a rising shot into the back of the net.
Ponce scored again in the 84th minute to ice the game. Arizona (2-2-0) held a 17-8 edge in shots.
