Callahan proclaims full roster healthy for U.S.C.

Nebraska wrapped up major preparations Thursday for its upcoming showdown with U.S.C., holding a final practice at Memorial Stadium.

Coach Bill Callahan says he expects to have the whole roster available for action, after playing significant portions of the Wake Forest game without safety Tierre Green and tackle Ty Steinkuhler.

Callahan says the team is ready for the challenge. "This is a mature team. It’s a team that has a good focus and a concentrated effort.”

The Blackshirts will be challenged by a high-powered, balanced Trojan attack that netted 420 yards of total offense, including 206 passing yards, in their first game against Idaho September 1st, a 38-10 U.S.C. victory.

While the Trojans’ style of the West Coast offense is fairly similar to Nebraska’s offensive scheme, there are slight differences in Callahan’s eyes.

“There are similarities, but there are differences. Just watching S.C., we’re similar, but there are differences in route structure and protection philosophy.”

This will also be a big recruiting weekend in Lincoln with a number of official and unofficial visits from high school players.

Nebraska has a walk-through at Memorial Stadium on Friday.
