Husker Coaches Weigh In On Conference Shift

Nebraska joins the Big Ten Conference in July 2011. Football coach Bo Pelini didn’t have much to say about it Friday when the decision was announced, but what do other Husker coaches think about the move?

"When they actually announced, I was excited,” said men’s basketball coach Doc Sadler. “I think in today’s world everybody is about change, sometimes change is good and in this situation I definitely think it is."

"The proud tradition of the Big Ten athletically as well as academically is known nationwide and I think we are excited to be a part of it,” said women’s basketball coach Connie Yori.

"The Big Ten has been around, it’s established, they have a foundation of what they want to get done and what they believe is important in principles and character and we are just very proud to be a part of that,” said women’s gymnastics coach Dan Kendig.

"It’s pretty exciting stuff,” said volleyball coach John Cook. “I think it's a great day for Nebraska and I really admire Chancellor Perlman and Coach Osborne taking the risk and making this decision because I think it’s a great move for Nebraska.”
