Nebraska continued preparing for Saturday's game against Wake Forest with a two-and-a-half hour practice Wednesday afternoon.

Coach Bill Callahan says the Huskers could face a tough time running against the Demon Deacons, who gave up 54 yards on the ground in last week's 38-28 loss to Boston College.

"I feel their front seven is the strength of their football team, no question,” says Callahan. “It’s outstanding. I can see why they had the success they had a year ago on defense. They harass, make plays and disrupt. They’re well coordinated and have excellent fundamentals.”

He expects this year's match to be closer than their meeting in 2005, when the Huskers beat the Demon Deacons 31-3 in Lincoln.

"They’re much bigger, thicker and more physical, especially the two tackles inside,” says Callahan. “They’re playmakers and run-stoppers. They have an excellent system.”

Wake Forest finished 4-7 in 2005, but the school won a conference title last year with an 11-3 record.

Husker defensive tackle Ty Steinkuhler is listed as day-to-day for Saturday.
