Bellevue swept a doubleheader from Peru State Sunday at Westgate Field in Omaha, blasting the Bobcats 20-0 in the opener and scoring twice in the bottom of the seventh for a 3-2 victory in game two.
The Bruins cruised in game one on 14 hits that including three home runs in the five-inning game. Brandon Thompson's grand slam and Matt Kabele and Jon Reed two-run bombs paced the BU attack. Louie Templeton went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a pair of doubles.
Luis Castillo (2-2) picked up the win, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out three in four innings.
With Bellevue trailing 2-1 in the nightcap, Chad Lambert, Matty Johnson and Reed all singled to start the seventh to tie the score at 2-2. After intentionally walking Templeton, Francisco Rosario's sacrifice fly to center field scored Johnson for the win.
Chris Williamson (3-1) picked up the complete game win, striking out nine Bobcats while allowing five hits and two walks.
