The Lancers scored three unanswered power-play goals in the second period to beat Sioux Falls 5-2 Saturday night at the Omaha Civic Auditorium.

Omaha took a 1-0 lead just over two minutes into the game when Seth Ambroz got free on the right wing knocking home his 22nd goal of the season. It was 2-0 2:22 later when Stefan Demopoulos won a goal line scramble and backhanded in his ninth goal of the year.

Sioux Falls cut the deficit in half 15:29 into the period when Chad Ruhwedel’s slapshot from the right point crept under the left elbow of goalie Jeff Teglia. The Stampede tied the score early in the second period when Conor Allen’s pass from the left point redirected off the skate of Matt Lindblad and into the back of the Lancers’ net.

Omaha’s power-play answered on goals by Dakota Eveland (4:26), Greg Wolfe (13:31) and Troy Power (16:32).
