Creighton shot 50 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range in a 58-48 win at Wichita State Sunday afternoon.

The Jays hit 22-of-44 shots from the field and 9-of-18 three-pointers, including Megan Neuvirth's 3-for-3 effort from long range. Neuvirth led the team with 18 points and 10 rebounds in her fourth double-double of the season.

Wichita State (13-9, 5-6 MVC) jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the opening minutes before the Bluejays (13-7, 8-3 MVC) responded with nine straight points to take an 11-7 lead.

Creighton led 15-11 before the Shockers ran off eight unanswered points to go back ahead 19-15. WSU would lead by five, before a 10-0 run from the Jays gave them the lead for good at 27-22. Kelsey Woodard drained a three-pointer with :06 left in the first half to give CU its largest lead of the first half, up 30-24 heading into halftime.

Creighton kept the momentum in its favor to open the second half, opening on an 11-2 run to take a 15-point lead 41-26 not even three minutes into the half.

The Shockers would get within seven just minutes later, before the Jays opened up to a 48-36 lead with 11:51 left. From there, both teams would play sloppy basketball, with turnovers and missed shots plaguing both sides. CU went better than nine minutes without a field goal, but the Shockers could not get any closer than seven points during that time.

Neuvirth's three-point basket with 3:04 left ended the drought and gave the Jays a 52-42 lead. Sam Schuett hit a three-pointer on CU's next possession to prevent any WSU comeback.

Neuvirth led all players with 18 points and 10 rebounds for her 17th career double-double and fourth of the season. She finished 7-for-12 from the field and 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Schuett added 13 points and tied Chevelle Herring with a team-high five assists, Schuett made 3-of-5 three-pointers in the win while Herring finished with eight points, all in the second half.

Woodard scored seven points on her 21st birthday to move her career total to 999 points.

The Shockers had three players with 10 points each, Michelle Price, Marisah Henderson and Sheena Johnson. WSU's leading scorer on the season, Haleigh Lankster, was held to just two points.
