The Huskers took to the Hawks Championship Center field Monday afternoon in preparation for this weekend's home finale against Kansas State.
While several Huskers are fighting bumps and bruises from physical games against Kansas and Oklahoma, Nebraska went half-pads in during the 90-minute practice, but kept up a quick tempo.
"It went fine," said coach Bo Pelini. "It was a good practice, pretty good tempo. We got some work done, just the basics."
Tight end Mike McNeill and defensive end Pierre Allen missed practice with undisclosed injuries. Pelini said backup running back Rex Burkhead, out since October 12th with a broken right foot, has resumed running and could be ready to play in a few weeks.
Although the Huskers may be battling fatigue, Pelini said most teams are battling through tiredness toward the end of the season.
"Everybody is tired this time of year. "It's something you have to deal with. It's something you have to overcome. It's more mental than it is physical. Our guys are in good shape. They are ready to go."
Despite speculation that Nebraska would lighten up practices this week due to fatigue and injuries, Pelini said the Huskers would continue their daily grind as usual.
"I think our guys are fine. We're not going to lighten much up. We know how to take care of their legs, but we need to get our work done this year."
The Huskers welcome a tough Kansas State team to Memorial Stadium Saturday night. The Wildcats hold a 6-5 record and will battle NU this weekend for the Big 12 North division title.
Nebraska will practice again Tuesday afternoon.
