Bruins Advance In MCAC Tournament
Bellevue blanks York 2-0
Bellevue scored twice early in the first half en route to a 2-0 win over York College in the semifinals of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Friday afternoon at Heritage Park in Omaha.

Bellevue scored twice early in the first half en route to a 2-0 win over York College in the semifinals of the Midlands Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament Friday afternoon at Heritage Park in Omaha.

The Bruins (12-6) advanced to the championship game of the tournament and will face the host school, top-seeded College of Saint Mary at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Flames shut out Central Christian 3-0 in the tournament's first semifinal.

Bellevue struck quickly as sophomore Morgan Anderson scored one minute into the game on as assist from Ashley Janca from seven feet out. It was Anderson's first goal of the season.

Senior Jenna Pendley laced her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 20th minute on a shot from nine feet out off a pass from Erika Roberts that increased the BU lead to 2-0.

The Bruins held a 29-3 advantage in shots and a 15-1 edge in shots on goal.

Freshman goalkeeper Sarah Boone picked up her fifth shutout of the season, recording one save while improving to 11-6 overall. York's Jordan Veness recorded 13 saves.
