The Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority (MECA) announced Wednesday it is offering club seating at the new TD Ameritrade Park Omaha to College World Series season ticket holders.
Club seating will be located on a separate level above the lower bowl and in front of and below the stadium suites, beginning just beyond first base and wrapping around just beyond third base.
“Season ticket holders are not required to upgrade any or all of their reserved seats to club seats,” said Herb Hames, ticket chairman of the College World Series of Omaha Inc.
“This offer is strictly optional and includes all CWS games for the year, all Creighton University men’s home baseball games and the right of first refusal to purchase tickets for other events such as concerts that are held at the stadium.”
Club seating also entitles the purchaser to additional benefits such as access to lounge areas, waiter and waitress service, private restrooms and food and catering services.
“Parking will be part of the club seat package when at least four club seats are purchased,” said Hames. “The cost of preferred parking is included with the price of four or more club seats and a parking spot is guaranteed.”
The offer of club seating is being extended to season ticket holders based on the number of years they have held season tickets. “Season ticket holders cannot increase the number of CWS tickets they hold by purchasing club seats,” added Hames.
“If the season ticket holder has four reserved seats and wants to purchase two club seats, he or she must give up two reserved seats to offset the club seat purchase. Season ticket holders will not be able to hold more CWS seats at the new ballpark than they had at Rosenblatt Stadium.”
Depending on their location within the stadium, club seats are priced at $1,750, $1,650 or $1,550 per seat per year. These prices include the cost of a license good for five, seven or 10 years.
“At the end of the lease period, the ticket holder will have the option of renewing the lease or dropping the club seats,” said Hames. “If the club seats are not renewed, however, it is unlikely that CWS, Inc. will be in a position to offer reserved seats.”
Unlike Rosenblatt Stadium where both box seats and reserved seats were sold, TD Ameritrade Park Omaha will have only one category of non-premium seating in the grandstand and it will be called “reserved.”
In 2011, it is anticipated that reserved tickets will cost $22 per game, plus shipping and handling. “All reserved tickets will cost the same, regardless of location, the same as they did at Rosenblatt Stadium,” Hames said. “There will also be reserved seat parking that will cost $10 per entry for season ticket holders on a first-come first-served basis.”
Season ticket holders are being advised that it will be several months before they are notified of the exact location of their reserved seats in TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
“We will do our best to place season ticket holders as close as possible to the location of their old seats at Rosenblatt Stadium,” said Hames.
The 2010 College World Series at Rosenblatt will start on Saturday, June 19th with the first game of the finals beginning on Monday, June 28th. The finals will conclude on Tuesday, June 29th or Wednesday, June 30th.
