Royals Chip Away, Clip New Orleans 6-5
The Royals battled back from an early 5-2 deficit to top New Orleans 6-5 Sunday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium.

The Royals battled back from an early 5-2 deficit to top New Orleans 6-5 Sunday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium.
The Zephyrs took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but Omaha went ahead 2-1 in the home half of the inning on Cory Aldridge's two-run homer, his 22nd of the season.
New Orleans scored four more times in inning two. Neil Wilson singled home Gookie Dawkins, John Raynor singled in David Matranga and Alejandro De Aza reached on an error by left fielder Scott Thorman, allowing Wilson to score.
Raynor came home on Cameron Maybin's ground out to short, making it a 5-2 game.
The Royals immediately began their comeback with a run in the bottom of the second on Thorman's 19th homer of the year.
The score stayed 5-3 Zephyrs until the fourth when Aldridge walked and J. R. House, Thorman and Luis Hernandez knocked consecutive singles to plate two runs and tie the score.
Omaha scored the winning run in the eighth as Thorman doubled and scored on a Hernandez single.
Thorman finished 3-for4 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Aldridge was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Hernandez also had three hits and drove in a pair of runs.
Victor Marte (1-4) got the win and A.J. Battisto (0-1) was charged with the loss.
