The Express scored three runs in the ninth to beat Omaha 6-5 Monday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium.

Reggie Abercrombie walked and Tommy Manzella singled to start the rally. After Brian Bogusevic sacrificed the runners to second and third, Mark Saccomanno tripled them in. John Gall followed with a single to score Saccomanno.

Saccomanno hit a three-run homer in the first inning to give Round Rock the early lead.

The Royals chipped away with a run in the second on Cory Aldridge’s 11th home run, two in the third on Aldridge’s two-run double and two runs in the sixth on Scott Thorman’s bases-loaded single to take a 5-3 lead.

After the Express took the lead, Omaha had a chance in the ninth when Thorman led off the inning with a double, but was thrown out at third base on Mario Lisson’s grounder to short.

Lisson stole second, but was left stranded as Aldridge struck out and Luis Hernandez flied to center.

Josh Muecke (4-8) was the winner and Chris Hayes (1-4) took the loss.
