Designated Hitter Tug Hulett went 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and a run scored as Omaha defeated Round Rock 5-3 Sunday afternoon at Rosenblatt Stadium.
The Royals took a 2-0 lead in the first. Irving Falu walked, Hulett singled and Kila Ka'aihue singled to bring home Falu. Hulett would later score on Scott Thorman's ground out.
The Express tied it with runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Jason Smith's sacrifice fly in the fourth scored Brian Bogusevic and Chris Johnson's leadoff homer in the fifth evened things up.
The Royals came right back in the home fifth to take a 4-2 lead. Cory Aldridge singled to right, was bunted over to second by Travis Metcalf and after Tim Raines Jr. walked, scored along with Raines on a Falu double.
John Gall singled in Mark Saccomanno in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3, but Hulett doubled home Metcalf in the seventh for some insurance.
Kyle Davies (4-2) got the win and Mark McLemore (3-6) took the loss.
