Zephyrs unravel in late innings
The Royals rallied for a run in the ninth inning to tie the game and two runs in the 10th to defeat the Zephyrs 3-1 Sunday afternoon in New Orleans.

The Royals rallied for a run in the ninth inning to tie the game and two runs in the 10th to defeat the Zephyrs 3-1 Sunday afternoon in New Orleans.

The Zephyrs took a 1-0 lead in the first as John Raynor doubled and later scored on a ground out. The score stood until the ninth when Brian Buchanan knocked his fifth home run of the season off reliever Chris Mobley (2-1).

In the 10th, Mario Lisson reached on an error by third baseman Gaby Sanchez and Travis Metcalf singled him to third. Lisson scored on Tommy Murphy's sacrifice fly.

Irving Falu then reached on an error by second baseman Manuel Mayorson and Tug Hulett followed with a single to load the bases. Metcalf came in on Scott Thorman's sac fly.

Carlos Rosa (1-6) got the win. The Royals head into the All-Star break 36-53 in last place in the American North Division of the Pacific Coast League.
