Catcher Cody Neer homered and matched his career-high four RBIs to lead Nebraska to a 12-4 win over Oklahoma State Saturday afternoon in Lincoln.
Neer went 2-for-4 while Adam Bailey and Kyle Bubak combined to score seven of the Huskers' 12 runs. Tyler Farst and Jeff Tezak drove in two runs apiece.
Nebraska (14-6-1, 3-2 Big 12) was also helped by strong pitching from Jordan Roualdes. The left-hander gave up seven hits over seven innings and recovered from the Cowboy's three-run showing in the third to hold them scoreless for his last three innings.
Oklahoma State (14-7, 0-2 Big 12) left-hander Tyler Lyons gave up six runs on eight hits in just two innings on the mound. It was the shortest start of his career and his first loss of the season.
Oklahoma State held Nebraska to just one run over the next five innings and narrowed the lead to two, but the Cornhuskers surged ahead in the eighth. Nebraska put five on the board thanks in part to Neer's three-run homer.
