Adam Shada, the star quarterback of the top ranked Millard North Mustangs, is in intensive care at Clarkson Hospital after having a blood clot removed. His season and high school career are apparently over but he's expected to fully recover.

Adam's father, Mark Shada, said his son experienced swelling in his right forearm and it became painful over the weekend. The school trainer recommended he see a doctor immediately.

Shada is expected to remain in the hospital for the next two to four days and then be on blood thinners for the next two to three months.

The senior has led the Mustangs to an unbeaten season and the number one ranking in the Channel 6 Top Ten rankings.

He has already accepted a scholarship to play at the University of Iowa next fall and doctors are confident that he'll have a full recovery.
