Mike "Bear" Berens has been coaching football for nearly 40 years at Roncalli Catholic High School. For him, old school football is the best kind of football.

The coach told Channel 6 News, in week one of "On the Go With Chiodo" he likes to keep his team playing taditional football -- avoiding 'shotguns' and tricks and relying on execution and "smashmouthing."

Bear said he has had good seasons and bad seasons, but loves the game, and coaching in general. He also coaches the High School Basketball team. He said before games he likes to tell his team, "Work hard, Play hard, and have fun."

Bear said he thinks his team will be successful this season as he has many seniors who are experienced on the team. Last season, they had only four.

Bear's administrators and Roncalli staff told Channel 6 he has become an "institution in the school and community."
