Sam Bradford threw for 311 yards and five touchdowns as No. 4 Oklahoma capitalized on three terrible Nebraska pass plays right in the opening minutes Saturday night to the beat the Huskers 62-28.

Oklahoma's Dominique Franks intercepted Joe Ganz's first pass attempt and returned it 18 yards for a touchdown and the Huskers (5-4, 2-3 Big 12) also had turnovers on each of their next two passes as the Sooners (8-1, 4-1) raced to a 28-0 lead in the first 4 1/2 minutes and never looked back.

"We just really came out firing, really with everybody," said Sooners coach Bob Stoops. "I thought our guys really were focused in and came out and couldn't have executed much better in all parts of the game. It's a good way to start a big game."

Bradford went 19-for-27 and cleared 300 yards passing for the seventh time this season. It was the sixth time he tied the school record with five touchdown passes in a game.

Oklahoma had never scored more than 55 points in 83 previous meetings with Nebraska dating back to 1912, but got more than halfway to that total in no time.

"I've been in a lot of games, I've seen it happen," said Nebraska coach Bo Pelini. "The snowball started rolling on us and we didn't do anything to get it stopped."

Chris Brown got it started by capping a seven-play, 53-yard opening drive with a two-yard touchdown run and only :04 ticked off the clock before Franks, a cornerback, stepped in front of Ganz's screen pass behind the line of scrimmage and took it in for another score.

Franks said the Huskers had a "real big tendency" to run the screen play out of that single-back, two wide receiver formation and he'd imagined making that kind of interception in days leading up to the game. "I just jumped it. I got a chance and I just made a play."

Dreu Young fumbled after catching Ganz's second pass and Oklahoma cashed in three plays later with a 48-yard pass from Bradford to Quentin Chaney, who had gotten behind safeties Larry Asante and Matt O'Hanlon.

Then coincidence turned into absurdity. I-back Marlon Lucky reached up to deflect Ganz's next pass high into the air and Lendy Holmes picked it off and returned it 26 yards. Bradford made it 28-0 on the next play by zipping a nine-yard touchdown pass to Jermaine Gresham and there was still 9:27 left to play in the first quarter.

By that point Nebraska had run five offensive plays and committed three turnovers. "You can get all over somebody pretty quick and jump on them, it's big obviously," said Oklahoma defensive coordinator Brent Venables. "It gets them on their heels. It creates momentum, it creates points. It gets things a lot more comfortable out of the gate."

Pelini, a former defensive coordinator under Stoops and at Nebraska and LSU, took the blame for a "lousy" defensive performance and didn't allow his players to speak to reporters after the game.

"I'm responsible for what happened out there. I'm the voice of this team. I told our guys Oklahoma's over. We're moving on."

Brown tacked on a one-yard TD catch on the final offensive play of the first quarter, giving Oklahoma a 35-0 lead. It was the first time Nebraska had ever given up more than 28 points in any quarter.

"We didn't expect it, but at the same time we were just ready to play," Holmes said. "We knew this was a rival game. You can't be relaxing out there and just playing. You've got to play hard because you know they're going to come out here and play hard."

DeMarco Murray had two short touchdown runs and caught a 25-yard TD pass to tie Adrian Peterson's record for the most scores by a Sooners player in his first two seasons with 29.

Backup I-back Roy Helu ran 16 times for 157 yards and a touchdown for Nebraska, but all while the Huskers were trailing by at least 28 points.

"We saw last week how scores can change," Murray said. "We've just got to keep putting the pedal down and keep trying to stay focused."

Ganz finished 14-for-26 for 206 yards with one touchdown pass and the two early picks.

"Obviously, that wasn't what we wanted and it hurts," said Pelini. "The reality of it is if you coach in this game long enough, you play in this game long enough, you're going to face situations like this. Nobody likes it, but you have to move on."

Yeah, Trav, you're all things Husker. Everyone knows your president of the Husker fan club....you're more of a fan than anyone else. Sheesh.

Posted by: jesse on Nov 4, 2008 at 01:56 PM
hey morons do you realize if nebraska wouldnt of handed oklahoma 28 points we very well couldve beaten them. i dont care who it is no one is going to rally back after being down 35-0 in the first quarter. so its obvious they dont stink theyre just stupid.

So Shana is just stirring the pot and yes, Stan, you are a bandwagon fan. I imagine you will wait to see how Creighton does before you start buying up basketball tickets. I'm sure you were in line for the CWS when NU was in but had never seen or knew Buck Beltzer. You ARE, however, the type that expects too much too soon. Don't worry, you have a lot of whiners to share stories of the good old days with. Shana, they look like they know more than they did the last 3 years under BC, and for someone who isn't a fan you sure do emit a lot of passion. Roll with it kids! It may be a few years but they'll make it back. Talk to you soon Mr. (Stan) and Mrs. (Shana) Funsdone. ;-)

Hey Trav..Just to let you know I have NEVER been a Husker fan and NEVER will be. The team is no good..they don't know what they are doing. My daughters could play better football then that joke of a team..And Ryan...I agree, the Huskers do stink.

Posted by: stan on Nov 3, 2008 at 05:50 PM
Trav, while you're waiting in line for your Kool Aid, read T.O.'s comment. I couldn't have written it better myself. Second, you didn't MISTYPE (not misstype), you used the wrong word. Quit minimizing. Its called integrity. Bandwagon fans? Please, their performance was an absolute disaster. Call 'em like you see 'em. Anything less would be blowing sunshine.

Roses Are Red ... Violets Are Pink ... Bo Pelini's Huskers ... You Guys STINK!

Posted by: Amy on Nov 3, 2008 at 01:26 PM
Good game, Nebraska gave them a good run. Sorry we could not pull it off. I think we should be paying these guys more money then we might be able to win more games.

Posted by: John on Nov 3, 2008 at 10:28 AM
What a disappointment in NU. All the reasons Bo has to go. We are paying for prime rib and getting 50% lean hamburger.

Posted by: Trav on Nov 3, 2008 at 08:28 AM
Stan, not sure what 60 blowouts meant? You obviously are a perfectionist and can handle no mistakes from yourself, family, teams, etc. So I misstyped? No edit function once you send this, and back off, my sister took the short bus. As far as my argument, it's valid because the bunch of you and many others are still whiny, bandwagon fans. My argument had nothing to do with mistakes.

Posted by: Jay on Nov 3, 2008 at 07:13 AM
What excuse does Bo have for that game? Bo's got to go!

Posted by: anon on Nov 3, 2008 at 01:50 AM
All I have to say win or lose I'm a husker fan and most these comments are ridiculous. For crying out loud who cares what BO wears. Wow maybe the ones worried about that should get more involved in the chearleading committee. This is crazy bet you all won't be crying in a few years when we are winning and Bo is wearing a tank top with mustard stains. Get real losers. GO BIG RED from a dedicated fan. I am with you till the end

Posted by: Rick on Nov 2, 2008 at 11:47 PM
NU went point for point with OU except for 5 minutes of the game. Pretty good.

Heyyyy, TJ's here.Yawn. Um TJ, how did your daughters Volleyball team do today? Let's see, Solich is 2 and 7 and Gill is 500. That must have been a helluva game. One more time, bandwagon fans, we will be back. When does the World Cup start? TJ, I'll give you some of my "Husker Magic Meds". You can dream of TO with the rest of the mush brains and awake 10 minutes before the rest of us real fans are marching down Dodge Street again. This time have your mommy take your pacifier out of your lips, tuck your flag into your diaper and run like hell for Sooner Land where you and your ilk belong. Healey, please post about Solich so I can respond...

Posted by: Scott on Nov 2, 2008 at 11:05 PM
Man, I feel like Rip Van Winkle. The time change and all. I just woke up. Hmmm gimme a moment to review the postings... LOL, ok, the same old people here that didn't pass "Flag Football 101". "Bo, quit wearing that sweatshirt, Bo, quit showing emotion, Bo, treat the press better, Bo, oh Bo... Please, wanna be flag football coaches, WE DO NOT HAVE THE TALENT TO PLAY D2, PERIOD. You will all have to put your O2 masks back on, take your BP Medicine, check with your Cardiologists once a week, get back to reality and probably just shut up for another 2-3 years before we start to stomp on our opponenets again. Give the guy a break, he is working with sub par talent. Have any of you wanna be coaches ever been on the sideline of a real football game? It's killer. It's raw emotion. Bo has passion, most of his adopted players do not. AND, for those of you who want Solich back, LOL, I can only laugh. " EWWWWWW, he went 9-3". Gimme a break, his time was up faster than #20 could run from the cops..?

Posted by: T.O. on Nov 2, 2008 at 10:36 PM
Hey, cool aid drinkers, you can be a Republican and dislike your president's performance, you can go to your favorite restaurant and critique a subpar dinner.....get it? Stand on your own two feet. Lopsided 62-21 losses (it could have been worse...thanks Mr. Stoops for your mercy) are unacceptable. The Keystone Kop performance of the team is unacceptable. You don't have to be a coach or even one of them Subway sandwich artists to figure that out.

Posted by: stan on Nov 2, 2008 at 10:22 PM
Trav, your argument fails to recogize the consistent offsides, late hits, stupid penalties, blown assignments, etc, etc etc. NO excuse for 60 blowouts, none. Oh, did you mean, "encounter ADVERSITY", as opposed to "diversity", short bus man?

Posted by: TJ on Nov 2, 2008 at 09:45 PM
Same old HOMER remarks when BC took over. "Give him 3-4 yrs with his own players and he'll be playing for the Nat'l Championship" - didn't happen, and he was run out of town! Now the same comments by the same idiots for BO, give him 3-4 years and Cornholers will be back. I gurantee all you Homers will be callin for his head in 4 years too. Bottom line: Husker fans are the most pathetic fans in the country.

Posted by: Trav on Nov 2, 2008 at 09:25 PM
To Stan, Avery, Shana, Byrne, and every other whiny armchair coach. You all are pathetic excuses for football fans. I'll bet you were running up Dodge street in your underwear in 94 but encounter some diversity, you all jump ship? Well enjoy the swim because we won't be dropping the cargo net to welcome you back aboard when we're on plane. (Some boating references for the slow ones) Suppose you were calling for TO's head when he wasn't winning the big one from 73-94. You folks should now rally your "bandwagon" for Alabama as they are number one this week. Didn't see any bad calls and if you take away the first 5 minute snowball, NU loses 34-28. Not saying it wasn't ugly but that passion, that you all seem to to despise from Bo, is what NU needed to continue the fight. Bo, ya look good in the sweatshirt. I can't believe folks are whining about attire. Don't fret, if Bama looses to LSU, and Tech beats OU, you can rally for the Red Raiders next week.

Posted by: Paul on Nov 2, 2008 at 08:51 PM
Where do I start with this room. Bo is going to be Bo. You will not have another Devaney or Osborne so stop trying to compair. He inherited a program that was beaten down. (and for the Saben comment he had a full cubbord when Shula left) Most people have no idea how other coaches act b/c you don't see them as often. So Pelini's attitude is similiar to many very good coaches. Give the guy and his staff some time. I am sure you will see a much better product in a couple years. All dynasties come to an end at some time and rebuilding takes time. Sounds like some of you are just poor losers and haven't played a sport and/or been around good coaching and have no idea what you are talking about. You just want to complain b/c you are entiltled too. Some of the comments in hear are pathetic. It is going to take a couple of years people. Bo shows heart! They didn't quit!

Posted by: jim on Nov 2, 2008 at 08:10 PM
Okay, first of all im a die hard husker fan in socal. what alot of yuo dont remember or know is that when callahan was the raiders coach,{im not a raider fan} he made that team what it is now. alot of players the nu has now are from the callahan era. husker fan just need to give bo a chance for more recruting{spelling}.get the players that he want to fit his program.I know this is very hard to wait for , im a sd charger fan and have been waiting fo 25 yrs.it will not take that long but i do think in a year or two nu will be back..

I will not rub it in this week. Just watching the highlights should say it all.

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 2, 2008 at 07:00 PM
Greg...a team gets down 35-0 in the 1st quarter and you're going to complain about officiating? Wow...

Posted by: stan on Nov 2, 2008 at 06:25 PM
LORI, DID YOU WAIT IN A FIELD FOR THE GREAT PUMPKIN TOO? WE FEEL SORRY FOR THOSE WHO HAVE TO WORK AROUND YOU....THEY'RE DOING ALL YOUR WORK WHILE YOU'RE IN LAA LAA LAND. HOW MANY 60-20 DRUBBINGS DO YOU NEED BEFORE YOU REALIZE WE'VE BEEN "REBUILDING" FOR THE LAST 6 YEARS? ALABAMA DID IT IN 1 YEAR UNDER NICK SABAN. 62-21 IS NOT A LOSS...ITS A SHELACKING. ITS UNACCEPTABLE. PERIOD. GO WATCH A CUB SCOUT FLAG FOOTBALL GAME WHERE EVERYONE GETS A TROPHY.

Posted by: Avery on Nov 2, 2008 at 06:03 PM
As I wastched the incredibly fantastic stats of Nebraska BEFORE 1999 I thought about what has been wrong. Wrong is that we used to have coaches with personalities of gold, who treated players with respect. Since then we have had hot head coaches who blame the team. Turn that finger around. No one to blame but the poor choice of coaches. Get a coach with a history of honor, like Devaney, Osborne. Even Frank Solich had honor and temper management. If nothing else, apologize to Solich and beg him to come back.

Posted by: ted on Nov 2, 2008 at 06:00 PM
Do not realy car if NU wins or looses. Just the actions on the sidelines of the coach represents the team and the state. His actions on the sidelines are no diffrent then BC throat slashing.

Posted by: Anonymous on Nov 2, 2008 at 05:29 PM
Get a clue Greg. Why is it thwn NU gets their a** handed to them, someone always blames the officials. But when NU wins, its always good playing. Enlighten me please.

Posted by: David on Nov 2, 2008 at 04:59 PM
Callahan's players played like freshman in college with no knowledge of football game this season and are learning. Callahan's players didn't learn anything from last coach and they just know how to play from playbook that it. So, Bo will teach them how to play football with passion as good old nebraska football traditional. It will take a time, let say next season or two will show us.

Posted by: byrne, b on Nov 2, 2008 at 04:50 PM
Dr. Tom must go! Get someone who knows how to hire real coaches, like Nick Saban. We should have hired him when we had a chance. How pathetic the team's effort last night, looks like KU next week will do the same to huskers and our hopes of going to Phoenix is evaporating.

Posted by: Shana on Nov 2, 2008 at 02:44 PM
When you win you win...when you lose you must be the Nebraska Huskers!

Posted by: Fair Weather Fans on Nov 2, 2008 at 02:41 PM
Wow, so many of you suddenly have so much trash to talk, even though two weeks ago this team was going to win the north title. Seriously, it is Bo's first year with Callahan's players, stop this crap of "we suck, its terrible wah wah". Go join some other band wagon or be a fair weather fan somewhere else. Every SMART person knew this team was 2 to 3 years away from NOT being on the receiving end of a beat down like last night. If this was 3 years from now and that happened, yes, I understand, but give it time!!!!! And like some one said, 95% of you lose your breath getting the paper, so I wouldn't be so quick to bash athletes that you spend most of your adult life idolizing. Some of you really need to grow up. So many coaches, Im surprised Obsorne didn't interview some of you, you all seem so smart at football. Yet nobody pays you to coach a major program like NU. SInce most of you are suddenly unsure of this team, in 4 years, when Bo has them playing well, you can't wear red anymore.

Posted by: Sooner from Iowa on Nov 2, 2008 at 02:05 PM
For years Nebraska fans had an A #1 coach and you all got used to being great. I have watched what has been happen and I did not understand firing a coach with a winning record to hire a coach with a losing record, but well, it happened. That move totally destroyed a great tradition. Nebraska football finally has a coach who given time to recruit will take you back to your former glory, but give me a break, no can take over the mess Callahan made and fix it this fast. Us Sooner fans took our lumps and it is finally paying off, so quit whining and give Pelini the tiome to do what we all know he is capable of.

Posted by: Bugeater on Nov 2, 2008 at 02:02 PM
The team and the coaches need to focus on the remaining games, and to remember a team they took into overtime just a couple of weeks ago just beat the No. 1 team in the nation.

Hello, June,Lucas,Greg,Ed, JV,Stan and Doug: You all are so negative. I feel sorry for those who work with you and have to be around you. NU is rebuilding and we are fortunate to have Bo Pelini as Head Coach. It's been said, those who are continually negative and down on others feel so crapy about themselves, they pass judgement on others so they can feel good about themselves. The NU players and Coach Pelini DO NOT NEED YOU...GO FAR FAR AWAY!!!!!

Posted by: seth on Nov 2, 2008 at 11:13 AM
i have an idea! since ole phillip dillard is coming back next year maybe we should consider putting castille on the defensive side of the ball! The Qb spot i think that it will be a shocker a battle between a true freshman(i.e Cody Green) and patt witt. Wide outs no need to worry we have plenty of depth! Running backs i think last night answered that problem HELU!! and MENDOZA! we still will have a very powerful line since ty stienkuhler will be gone baker will fill his shoes, turner will come back and so is SUH and Pierre Allen. And think about it this way most of our d backs and safetys are returning next year so no Need to Worry Husker Fans Our team will shock the world Come next fall!! GBR!!

Posted by: B on Nov 2, 2008 at 11:13 AM
To all of you fair weather fans & Husker haters. Let me just say one thing. Have your fun now! Nebraska has beat up on so many teams for so many years, we are just getting paid back! Wait till Bo get's his players in. Then watch out. GO BIG RED!

Posted by: DDB on Nov 2, 2008 at 10:51 AM
It is just a football game nothing more, nothing less. Give the team time to rebuild and get a life so that a loss in a football game doesn't ruin your life. By the way, most people posting on this site have never coached anything so your opinion really lacks any weight.

Posted by: Greg on Nov 2, 2008 at 10:36 AM
The officiating was terrible. I've never seen so many bad calls.

Posted by: Rick on Nov 2, 2008 at 10:22 AM
You guys are crazy bashing NU for last night, they lost, did anyone expect them to win? A loss is a loss, no matter by 35 or 1 point, it's a loss. 28-0 in first 5 minutes is a killer to any team. Bo will get this ship righted just not as soon as all Husker fans hope. Look at how NU played Texas Tech and what they did to Texas. NU is capable of playing with the big boys but not on a consistent basis, and please, please, no more night games for NU.

Posted by: Michael on Nov 2, 2008 at 10:15 AM
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Nebraska fans cannot expect the Huskers to be better this year with less talent than last year with a first year coach. It's just not going to happen. I cannot believe the ignorance of the NU fan sometimes. You have to be realistic. Yes, Nebraska can be good again, but NOBODY will EVER be as good as Nebraska was from the 60's up to the 90's ever again. Five star athelets are going to schools with less tradition to get playing time right off the bat. Blue chip recruits will not sit 2-3 years to wait on the bench at a place like Nebraska to get one year of playing time. They'll go to places like South Florida, a football team that has existed for 10-15 years, and they are already in the top 20 consistently. Unfortunately tradition does not matter as much anymore. What the kids are looking for is playing time, good coaches so they can develop, good weather and a place where they can win a national title. Can Nebraska offer that?

Posted by: John on Nov 2, 2008 at 10:12 AM
Bo Pelini will NOT be a winner no matter how much time NE gives him. He's NOT head coaching material. Osborne was luke warm on hiring him at first, but the public got a bandwagon effect in getting him hired. Bo has NO class. He Looks like a slob on the sidelines with so much crappy attitude. It's not a positive, motivating attitude that he's showing the nation. He goes off, gets abusive, loses focus. The effect is that the players lose focus too. He does not keep his head in the game. One of these games he will be ejected if he doesn't quit yelling inches from an Official's nose. Its inexcusable behavior. He's an assistant coach at Best and he has no business running this classy, storied program in NE. His chippy attitude and terse statements after every loss are getting old. He's bounced (or been bounced) around alot of teams for good reason.

Hey Crybaby Fans, I DO weeze reaching for my remote...that's why I'm not getting tuition, books, food, lodging, amenities of living, and heaps of attention bestowed upon me. Get it? Saturday night was NOT Division 1 football. Any company run that way (yes, I know they're kids but please, let's have SOME accountability), that company would be DEFUNCT.

To Ed: A coach shouldn't grab a player's facemask? In your world is that some type of abuse? Get real plase. When I played pee-wee football we had coaches grabbing our facemasks to pump us up or correct us for making dumb mistakes. You hope he doesn't do that with his kids? Get real buddy. It's a man's game. Watch figure-skating if you can't handle it.

Gese, how embarrassing for OU - letting NU put 28 points on the board. I was flipping through the channels and caught the first part of the game - OU had three of their touchdowns basically given to them. Not that impressive. Go OU? Pllleeeaaassseee.

It amazes me how many of you are saying "Bo must go".This man who inherited a team from what has to be the worst coach in Nebraska's history and you expect him to work miracles in one season? Well guess what it doesnt happen over night. Bob Stoopes didnt turn around Oklahoma his first season. Now unless any of you arm-chair wannabee coaches has a solution for Nebraska then you get on the sidelines and coach, otherwise keep the "Bo must go" to yourselves and let him do his job!!

Posted by: Keith on Nov 2, 2008 at 08:05 AM
NU looses to Oklahoma? It was bound to happen SOONER or later.

Posted by: SC-Dude on Nov 2, 2008 at 07:34 AM
Nebraska fans hang in there, give Bo some time and continue to believe and support him. When I was going to school at USC we were horrible. Then we hired Pete Carroll. This was a controversial hiring at that time, he caught alot of flak and people were expecting him to turn the program in 1 year. Pete Carroll's first year he only won 2 games, no bowl bid. His second year he went 6-6, then he re-built the dynasty his 3rd year. Programs will cycle thru good times and bad times, great programs like Nebraska WILL cycle back...patience Bo is the right fit at Lincoln. Continue to give him the support he needs to rebuild the program, it doesn't happen overnight. It will be at least 3 seasons before Huskers will see the results...hang in there...just look at Pete Carroll's first few years at Southern Cal.

Ed Ed Ed show some class yourself is right. Ed you ever coach football other than a peewee league. Yeah probably not so if you think you can do better go apply to be a college coach. Yeah we lost oh well. We are going to be back. Anyone who says get rid of Bo get real. This is his first year with these kids. He has not recruited anyone yet that he has chose. Bo is coaching CAllahans recruits period. Give it time and give it a chance. OU is a very good team and played a great game tonight. I am not a OU fan but I believe they will probably win the National Championship. Nebraska made mistakes oh well. I remember all the comments when Texas TEch beat us. Everyone was saying they are underrated and we didn't even play a real team. Well guess what Texas Tech has a hell of a program and we did great against them. But whatever like I said the Huskers will be back. It might take 2,3,4 years whatever but we will be up there again. So with that said keep your heads up huskers and fans. GOBIGRED

It's hard to be 100% behind your alma mater when they invite homegrown terrorists like Bill Ayers to speak. Perlman SAYS it was his own decision but when the enormous checkbooks to the athletic department threatened to snap shut, he changed his mind....no matter WHAT he says.

Ever since I moved here in 1989, I have watched the football game and no matter what I have always been on OU side. Nebraska had put themselves as top notch for several years and now through recent years has put the coaches down when it is the teams fault for not paying attention to what they are doing. I also agree that no coach does what Pelini did on the sidelines with the player or the referee. If I were the referee, I personally would have thrown him out of the game for his attitude, because that shows the fans and players that he has no sportsmanship. I am a die hard OU fan. I was born, raised, and always will be an OU sooner fan and proud of it.

The talent level is so evident. We don't seem to have any yet. Some walk ons have futures as well as some freshmen, but we are way off from competing with the big boys.

same old Nebraska excuses. No changes, no adjustments. What a joke! What a sham! No originality. These coaches suck. That's why Solich was fired. Callahan was worse. Now Pelini's staff stinks. Three types of losers. Tom Osborne needed to be athletic director AND coach AND get the team together. The same mistakes week after week with WIDE OPEN and UNDEFENDED players scoring AT WILL. This is PATHETIC! Bench Ganz. Run Helu 30 times per game. Try something damn different for once!

I totally understand the idea of needing to "rebuild". All schools have off years and transitions with new coaches, but Sometimes I wonder if the gravy train at UNL has gone on long enough. Changing coaches and styles and more coaches has left Nebraskans with alot of heartache. We have no Pro anything in Nebraska and only 1 collage team that plays at a national level. For as long as I can remember Nebraskans, alumni, and fans have poored their heart, soul, and money into that program. They really need to start showing some of that commitment back to us. Put some thought into your coaching decisions up there and your style of football so we can recuit what we need and get back to where we were! We'll support you like always, Just make up your mind!

David, you are so right. There is a ton of parity in college football today. There are a LOT of programs who used to be on the top of the heap that are down farther than the Huskers this year. Florida State and Miami and Michigan unranked? In fact, with Michigan's loss today, they are now NOT bowl-eligible for the first time in 33 years, the longest consecutive bowl-appearance streak in the country! Nebraska will be back, just like Alabama is finally back and Penn State is apparently back (although in the lackluster Big 10). Notre Dame has sucked for some years. And TEXAS, the #1 team in the country, just lost to a team that lowly NEBRASKA took to OVERTIME a few weeks ago. And everyone's darling, Chase Daniels and the Missouri Tigers, BARELY beat perennial whipping-boy Baylor. Hey, Nebraska's first play from scrimmage was their bread-and-butter screen to Lucky...by Nov. 1 you don't think everyone in the country has SEEN that? Give Bo a chance and let him recruit. WE'LL BE BACK!

the huskers are just as bad now as they were with calahan. no change is going to happen so just start looking at other teams . the day of the big red being a schooyou dont want to play are long gone and will never be back.wake up huskers fans your dream is dead...

GIve a guy a break. It's his first year coaching ever. Not to mention the fact that it's technically not even his team. I find it ridiculous that people expect a coach to come to Nebraska, first year as a head coach, and suddenly turn the team into championship caliber in under a year. I see alot of promise in what Bo Pelini is doing. The Huskers will be back and you will be cheering in the years to come. That I can assure you. P.S. Ed, show some class yourself and learn how to spell. Please!

David I agree. Let's give Bo a few years, just like we did Callahan and see what happens. Bo DOES know Nebraska-just give him a chance.

Ed, Pelini's got heart, and your just a fair-weather fan just like your buddies jv, Stan, Doug, Tim, June, go, and OU Fan till They get beat by OSU or TT.

Tom O does not know how to pic coaches . Bo does not Know football or nebraska tradition. One he whould at least look more profesanal on the side line a get rid of the sweat shirt on the sidelines are wear something more respectable. 2 you dont yell and rant on the sideline becouse you did not prepair your team properly. And finally you do not grab player face mask on the sidelines the way he did. I hope he does not do that to his children . I do not have respect for aq coach like that . I hope nebraskens do not either.

I remember 1997 when Nebraska beat Oklahoma 69-7. All football tams have their down years, but a true fan will stick with their team if their winning or losing. Even if the loss is ugly.

Utter embarrassment. Don't get me wrong, we've been here before....but the total chernobyl meltdown is rediculous....offsides STILL....blown coverages....STILL......Joe Ganz throwing an interception on our 20 to dig us a hole....STILL. This is NOT division 1 football. This is a joke. And for all you moral victory hold your heads up high Huskers we support you no matter what......BULLPUCKEY.

Bo... Bring in some kids with heart . Sorry you had to inherit such a undisiplined bunch. 4 or 5 good ones dont make up for the rest. 3 years from now, lets see these fair weathered fans jumping on your band wagon.

What is Nebraska going to do next year without Ganz, Swift, and all the rest of the only good guys that are leaving? The worst has yet to come!
