The Round Rock Express rolled over the Royals on Sunday, sweeping a doubleheader 2-1 and 5-4 at Rosenblatt Stadium.

Ron Chiavacci, Ray King and Jim Brower combined to three-hit the Royals in the first game.

Omaha took a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Mitch Maier walked and Ryan Shealy singled. Jason Smith's sacrifice bunt moved the runners to second and third. Brian Buchanan walked to load the bases. Gookie Dawkins grounded into a force out at second allowing Maier to score.

The lead was quickly erased by the Express in the fourth. Mark Saccomanno singled and Nick Gorneault reached on throwing error by shortstop Smith, allowing Saccomanno to reach third base. With Ray Sadler batting, Saccomanno scored on a passed ball by Matt Tupman, Gorneault advancing to second. Reggie Abercrombie later singled him in making it 2-1.

Maier's fourth-inning double and Smith's ninth-inning double were Omaha's only other hits. Pinch runner Damon Hollins was thrown out at the plate trying to score on Smith's hit.

King (2-1) picked up the victory and Roman Colon (2-5) took the loss.

In game two, J. R. House knocked a two-run homer in the first inning and doubled in a run in the third for a 3-0 lead.

The Royals tied it in the home half of the third. Maier walked and scored on Brayan Pena's double. Shealy singled, but Pena was thrown out trying to score. It turned out to be a big play because Dawkins then homered.

With the game tied 4-4 in the seventh inning, Yordany Ramirez hit his sixth home run of the year off starter Matt Wright (3-6), making a winner of Nick Regilio (4-4).
