The Huskers Wednesday picked up their fourth football commit for the class of 2009. Gross High School senior-to-be C.J. Zimmerer is a 6-1, 215 pound fullback.

Big Red Insider Sean Callahan of HuskersIllustrated.com says Zimmerer is the old-fashioned kind of physical, blocking fullback that Nebraska featured in its national championship seasons.

“He is just your classic, old-school Nebraska fullback and these guys, believe it or not, are far and few between in high school football. A lot of teams don’t really even run a true fullback and let alone it’s hard to find a guy with the versatility of C.J. Zimmerer, so I think it’s pretty clear that the direction Nebraska wants to go is a more power base and you need to have a fullback and I think C.J. Zimmerer is the perfect type of guy they’re looking for, for the future.”

i keep seeing everyone doubt this recruit, take a moment to go watch the kid play and see the intensity and "leave everything on the field" mentality that he plays with every down, whether first or fourth quarter. you cant find too many high quality recuits that dont let their ego go to their head and take plays off. this kid is a steal as a recruit and the benefits could be endless once he gets a chance on the field!

If this is the type of recruit Bo gets, it wil be a long time before the Huskers are a winning program again.
