Tacoma jumped out to a 5-0 lead by the third inning and held on to beat the Royals 6-4 Monday night at Rosenblatt Stadium.
Right fielder Victor Diaz provided the big bat with two home runs for the Rainiers, a two-run blast in the third off Jeff Fulchino (1-1) and a solo shot in the fifth to greet new pitcher Roman Colon.
Center fielder Mitch Maier drove in three runs for the 17-19 Royals, two coming on his fourth homer of the season.
Starter R. A. Dickey (2-4) picked up the win for 20-17 Tacoma.
