The Lancers got first-period goals from Jake Hauswirth and Matt White and brilliant goaltending from Drew Palmisano for a 2-0 win over Waterloo Monday night at the Mid-America Center to even their series at 1-1.

The loss was Waterloo's first in post-season play this year after seven straight victories.

Hauswirth made it 1-0 4:58 into the first period on assists from Joe Diamond and White.

At the 13:35 mark, Hauswirth skated from the corner and spun away from a defenseman to put a shot on goal that was stopped by Waterloo goalie Matt DiGirolamo, but White was there to flip in the rebound.

Palmisano stopped all 28 Black Hawk shots for the shutout.

Game three is 7:05 p.m. Wednesday at Waterloo.

Great win by the men in Orange & Black last night at the MAC! Keep it going, guys...Just two more wins needed to capture the Clark Cup and capping off another tremendous season!

Lancer Fan, one other local station finally started covering the Lancers after defeating Lincoln in the final game of their series. That was two weeks after I e-mailed the sports anchor. One other station still doesn't deliver stories like they covered them first-hand. At least this one and the one other one seem to actually show up in person to do a story.

Keep up the good work Channel 6! Thanks for covering the Lancers since they are a local sports team, unlike some of your counterparts.
