About two dozen high school and junior college football players are signing letters of intent with Nebraska, solidifying a class ranked 27th by recruiting tracker Rivals.com.

After the firing of coach Bill Callahan on November 24th, 14 players de-committed from the Huskers, with seven switching to other Big 12 North schools.

Jeremy Crabtree, a national editor for Rivals.com, says Nebraska's recruiting has been able to recover pretty quickly from Callahan's firing.

On signing day Wednesday, Nebraska's only five-star recruit will be 6-foot-6, 290-pound offensive lineman Baker Steinkuhler out of Lincoln Southwest.

If you can listen to Bo Pelini and not get the least bit excited and still feel compelled to get on a "Sports Forum" and then complain, you need to either get off of this site or stop whining. Some people enjoy having something to look forward to. Regardless of how trivial it may seem to others. This is a big thing for the state of Nebraska so get over it. The excitement isn't going to go away just because a few fair weather or anti Husker fans don't want to hear about it. So on that note, GO BIG RED!!!

Its -40 F here, I'm tired of the cold, and I appreciate listening to Bo about the recruiting class. He is a high energy guy.

M - who cares what it is. I'm quite sure it doesn't have any affect on me. I'm also quite sure that since your'e concerned about what football team a 18 yr old HS kid chooses, that you need to get a life. It is just isn't news worthy!

(M)Your probably one of those annoying guys that knows ever little stat on Husker Football and can't stop complaining during a game.

Theresa: Its NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT day. Not just a husker thing. If you dont like it, move. The revenue that Husker Nation brings in is quite a bit...so maybe it does affect you....... and Mae,of you bleached your stuff pink after a bad season then you arent really a fan at all...you dont deserve to dye it back. GO BIG RED

The Huskers will lose 5 or 6 games in 2008. The "healing" is going to take a long time. Maybe, just maybe, the huskers will get to a bowl game, but i highly doubt it !

At the middle of the year, I bleached all my Husker stuff pink. It sounds like I may get to dye it back to Husker Red!

Pelini's leading the press conference with appreciation for all that helped in the process and thanking them by name shows what a class act he is. The emphasis on the importance of the walk on program and the whole demeanor of the program is a 180 degree turn around. Looking forward to FULL SPEED AHEAD GO BIG RED!!!

Teresa no rule that says you need to read about football this time of year, the internet has very simple ways to view other web site besides football. For the norm Go Big Red

The super bowl was played Sunday and football should be over for the season...but obviously not in this state full of husker freaks. Try finding a story that actually has an affect on us.

I'M GLAD TO SEE OUR EMPHASIS ON THE IN STATE KIDS HAS SOMEWHAT COME INTO WHO BECOMES OUR HUSKER PROGRAM, NOT TO MENTION A SURPRISINGLY GOOD RECRUITING CLASS. LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SPRING GAME!
