The Nebraska defense held Arizona State to one field goal over 19:30 to pull away to a 62-47 win Sunday afternoon at the Devaney Center.
Nebraska (5-1) trailed 21-14 after Jerren Shipp's three-pointer for Arizona State (4-2) with 8:31 remaining in the first half. The Sun Devils didn't score again for the rest of the half.
The Huskers led 30-21 at intermission and continued their defensive pressure as Arizona State got just one field goal in the first 11 minutes of the second half.
During that stretch, Nebraska expanded the lead to 20 on Abe Dagunduro's jumper with 13:05 left. Steve Harley's basket with 9:00 remaining made it 54-28 NU.
The Huskers forced 19 Arizona State turnovers, 13 of them in the first half. The Sun Devils shot 42% for the game, but missed nine of their first 10 shots in the second half.
Ade Dagunduro had 15 points to lead the Huskers. Aleks Maric and Ryan Anderson added 14 points each for Nebraska.
Jeff Pendergraph, James Harden and Christian Polk each scored eight points to lead Arizona State.
