Nebraska, Georgia Hold Final Bowl Practices

Nebraska and Georgia held their final full practices on Sunday afternoon in preparation for Tuesday's Capital One Bowl in Orlando. Both teams will have a walk-through on Monday.

"We feel like we have done everything we can do to get ready for this game," said Georgia head coach Mark Richt. "We are going to have to get after it because I'm sure Nebraska has been preparing just as hard. It will be interesting to see how the game develops after it gets going. I've been watching some of the other bowl games and it seems like one team might come out with the juice and then the other team ends up coming up with it later in the game. We have to make sure we channel our emotions and concentrate throughout the game."

The Huskers joined the Bulldogs at the DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park Sunday morning following a Fellowship of Christian Athletes breakfast. The players had the opportunity to interact and play video games with a group of disadvantaged Orlando youth.

“Everyone has a good time, us included,” said Husker guard Spencer Long. “It’s pretty special to take a kid around and have fun with him for awhile. They enjoy it and so it’s a good experience."

“Most of them, it’s their first chance to get in there and be around players like us,” said Husker safety P.J. Smith. “Both teams, Georgia and Nebraska, been around guys sort of like them, just go in there and tell them anything is possible, that's one of the main things."

“Oh yeah, gives them something to look up to,” said Husker linebacker Alonzo Whaley. “It gives them hope that they can make it no matter what. Never give up, that's the biggest thing."
