Nebraska assistant coach Ron Brown, who made national headlines last year for leading a midfield prayer before the first post-Joe Paterno game at Penn State, said he spent a lot of time praying for Jerry Sandusky on Saturday.

Sandusky, who spent decades on the Penn State football staff, is serving a 30-60-year prison sentence for sexually abusing boys. He has maintained his innocence.

Brown, who has been a polarizing figure for voicing his strong Christian beliefs, said after Nebraska's 32-23 win over the Nittany Lions that he hoped "the Lord would reach down and touch (Sandusky's) life." Brown said no matter how "atrocious the sin was, or how little it was, it's a failure before God. God is willing to forgive every sin."
