The Huskers worked out for just over 90 minutes in helmets and shorts Thursday afternoon.
Following practice, head coach Bo Pelini discussed the relationship between fifth-year senior linebackers Will Compton, Sean Fisher and Alonzo Whaley.
"I think our linebackers play off each other. They have a great relationship and they help each other. Fisher and Compton, there's some crossover there. That's kind of how we train them. I think it's been a good combination. There's a real good chemistry among those guys."
Pelini also discussed defensive lineman Cameron Meredith and whether he prefers to play the senior at the end spot or on the inside. "A little bit of both. I think you're going to see him in both places. He's a good football player and he's part of the combination inside and outside."
When asked if fans can expect to see Jamal Turner and Kenny Bell back to receive kicks again this weekend, Pelini said NU has several options available. "Possibly. Ameer's still available to return kicks and punts. We'll see how it plays out."
Nebraska will conduct a final walk-through practice Friday before traveling to East Lansing to face Michigan State at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
