UPDATE: Dundee Dell got back to WOWT 6 News faxing us their most recent report. The only Douglas County inspection report available at that time of our report card showed a total of 32 violations.
After we contacted the owner -- but before he called us back, inspectors made a return visit – on November 19.
This new inspection found that violations dropped from 32 to 11. The restaurant remained at a "Fair" rating.
On the restaurant's last report, Douglas County Inspectors found nine critical violations and 23 non-critical when they visited the Dundee Dell in January.
Of those 32 violations, inspectors noted grease and dirt build up on kitchen surfaces, as well as, dirty carts, very dirty ceilings above food prep areas, and dirty shelving in the kitchen, prep kitchen, and bar areas.
Inspectors also noted in their report that there was mold on the pop machine spouts and holders, as well as, raw meat being stored above salad dressings.
WOWT 6 News contacted the Dundee Dell for a comment on five separate occasions, but never received a response. Douglas County inspectors who were supposed to follow up two weeks from the January inspection told WOWT 6 News they have not been back. They said there are not enough inspectors.
