Hello All,
I hope everyone is doing great with their personal goals!! I must say, I have been doing very well “kicking the habit”!! I have gone about two or three weeks now only smoking one cigarette a day and I have been managing to wait to have that one cigarette until about 8 or 9 pm. I have been meeting with Sandy on a weekly basis and we have been working together to come up with some ideas of what I can do to fill the space of that last cigarette.
The last two times I met with Sandy my carbon monoxide level was a two! Being the competitive person I am, I am really hoping for a zero or even a one next time. I have been told that even non-smokers typically have a two, just because of the amount of carbon monoxide in the air, and that very few people ever have a one and only one person has gotten a zero-but I am still hoping!
I have been doing really well incorporating exercise into my daily routine at least a few times a week. I have been going for walks in the evenings after work and doing Yoga segments from a DVD I bought. Sandy also reminded me to reward myself for the progress I have made so far, which a bigger part of quitting smoking than most people would think. I have been rewarding myself with new Yoga things, and even though I have only gotten one thing, I have many more in the back of my mind! I already had a Yoga mat, and then I bought a new Yoga DVD, but sometime in the near future I will be purchasing a Yoga bag for my mat, a block and a belt! I also registered for the Heart and Sole walking program with Alegent Health and I will be monitoring my steps, converting them to miles and recording each mile I complete!!
If I can make it until tomorrow morning without a cigarette, I will have gone 48 hours! I have been informed that the final screening will be on October 3rd, and I cannot wait to compare my results from the 12 week time span! I hope everyone is doing well with their goals, remember, they will make you the best you!!
