Hello Again! Well, I have to say that this week has been a little tough but I think I am off to a great start! I am currently in the process of scheduling my first session with a Tobacco Treatment Specialist at Alegent Health, and I cannot wait to meet with her and have her help me get some goals in place! In regards to smoking, until I meet with the Tobacco Treatment specialist, I am gradually working on cutting back the amount of cigarettes I smoke every day. I am also working with an exercise pathologist to put some goals in place in order to start incorporating more physical activity into my daily routine, but we have both agreed I need to start slow and work my way up because I have never been big into exercising.
I have also been working on incorporating more, smaller meals into my daily routine, whereas before I was eating only one meal a day. In addition to the nutrition area, I am also trying to get into a daily routine to make sure I am taking all of the vitamins and supplements I need on a daily basis that I may not be getting enough of from my diet, such as fiber, vitamin C and Omega 3. I have been paying a lot more attention to nutrition labels while grocery shopping or even snacking at home, and I have been really trying to avoid Trans Fat at all costs.
I was rather pleased with the results of my health screening last Saturday morning, as they were all normal, or just slightly above normal but not enough to be concerned with at this point. My blood pressure was a little high, not any higher than I always remember it being but I was informed this is something I should be working on, as typically blood pressure does not decrease with age. In addition to my blood pressure, there were also a few areas of my cholesterol that were a little high as well, but once again I was not far over the normal mark. I am very much looking forward to getting my personal goals put in place for the few different areas I mentioned in order to start correcting the screening results I mentioned previously.

Great job on cutting down...WAY TO GO!!! You're off to a good start and it's awesome that you're also focused on the other aspects of your overall health. Can't wait for our trip this weekend, so that I can give you an "atta girl" hug - YOU DESERVE IT! Love you!
