Hundreds of pills went missing from nine patients. Now a woman entrusted with the care of patients at a Beatrice nursing home is under arrest.
Thirty-three-year-old Jennifer Collins was arrested last week.
Authorities say she admitted to an investigator that she had taken
nearly 430 pills from a total of nine patients over the past two
months.
She says ingested the pills herself at home.
If convicted, Collins faces up to 20 years in prison.
Administrator Lisa Sand at Beatrice Manor declined to say
Tuesday whether Collins was still an employee. Sand would say only
that she had notified state authorities about a discrepancy in
medication records.
A Beatrice phone listed for Collins is no longer in service.
Case records don't yet include the name of her attorney.
