Good Night At The Tables? Not So Fast...

Deadbeat parents who try to collect on a winning ticket or cash out after a winning session at Kansas state-owned casinos will have to turn over the money to pay child support debts.

A Kansas House committee is considering the bill that would make state-owned casinos or pari-mutuel racetracks run the names of people who win $1,200 or more through a
child support debtor registry. When a winner tried to cash out, the
jackpot would be taken to pay the child support.
A lawyer for the state-owned casino in Dodge City told the House
Judiciary Committee Monday that the casino supported the goal of
the bill, but noted problems with enforcing it.
The committee agreed to study the bill more before acting on it.
